I noticed something last night while I was practicing clarinet. During these crazy, uncertain, scary times, just the simple act of playing scales honestly filled me with comfort and calm. Music is the only certainty in my life right now, and I am eternally grateful to have my musical practice to guide me through quarantine, loss of income, fear for the future, and daily changes that are out of my control.
I hope that this message finds you readers well and safe! I wanted to let everyone know that my private studio is still functioning via Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype. I currently teach private students who are in the 4th and 5th grade, college/conservatory students and budding professionals, and even a senior citizen who is passionate about keeping her brain active and learning new skills!
Since we're all stuck at home, now is a good time to start practicing. And because finances are precarious for most of us, I'm offering a sliding scale of prices. Usually, I charge $80 for an hour lesson. However, feel free to write to me and let me know what you can afford. On the other side of that coin, if you- like a few of my students- would like to donate more than my usual fee... of course that is more than fine!
